Tae Wan co-authored a book "Design/Information Management & Value Engineering and Life Cycle Cost" (a series of Construction Management led by Korea Institute of Construction Engineering and Management). He contributed to the information management part in the endeavor.

Tae Wan left Hong Kong and started work at Incheon National University in Korea from March. Contact him at taewkim@inu.ac.kr if you are interested in working with him towards Master and/or PhD degree in Korea. English certificate will be needed if you are non native English speaker. Our study, "Space choice, rejection and satisfaction in university campus," has been published on-line in the Indoor and Built Environment. Our analysis of empirical data shows that when occupants cannot use their initially chosen space in a building, their satisfaction from the use of other space is influenced by this event of "space rejection."

Tae Wan co-authored a new paper, "Linked podiums affecting street life: A case of Tuen Mun in Hong Kong," published in the journal of Urban Design International. This study explores people's behavior affected by the configurations of the built environment in an urban level.

Our research project, "Formalizing Flexible Space in Space-Use Analysis" will be supported by Early Career Scheme, Research Grants Council of Hong Kong, for 3 years. This project aims to make flexible space computer-interpretable so that a computer can extract necessary information and make use of it without human intervention in simulating occupancy in a building design that contains flexible space.

Final Year Project of Lai Sheung Au, an advisee of Tae Wan, has been awarded the Best Poster Presentation Award in the Discovery and Innovation Gala 2016, City University of Hong Kong. Congratulations! The title of the project is "Using system dynamics to determine an optimum construction waste disposal charge from the policy makers’ views."

Dr. Jin Ouk CHOI starts to work with us as a post-doctoral fellow from July 1, 2015. Dr. Choi received his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin and has a specialty in modular construction.

MSc dissertation of Yang Song, a former RA of the IDCM Lab and an advisee of Tae Wan, has been selected as an "Outstanding Academic Papers by Students (OAPS)," which is a collaborative scheme between CityU and other universities, including Seoul National University (Korea), University of Southern California (US), and Tsinghua University (China). The title of the disseration is "Construction delay claims and risk management from the owners' perspective."
