We had two guest speakers in the course "Economics for Built Environment" in this semester. Dr. Jin Ouk Choi talked about the effects of modular construction in the construction economy. Dr. Jongsung Won delineated the relationship between BIM and building economics.

Seung Hyun and Tae Wan will attend the International Conference on Construction Engineeing and Project Management (ICCEPM), Busan, Korea, 11-14 October, 2015, to present their paper "Towards more accurate space-use prediction: A conceptual framework of agent-based space-use prediction simulation system."

Seung Hyun Cha, a former visiting PhD student, got an offer from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University! He will start his work as an Assistant Professor at the university this fall.

Dr. Jin Ouk CHOI starts to work with us as a post-doctoral fellow from July 1, 2015. Dr. Choi received his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin and has a specialty in modular construction.

Tae Wan will attend the 2015 Modular and Offsite Construction Summit, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (May 19-21, 2015), and present "Learning from previous BIM-based modular construction cases: qualitative comparative analysis approach," co-authored by him.

MSc dissertation of Yang Song, a former RA of the IDCM Lab and an advisee of Tae Wan, has been selected as an "Outstanding Academic Papers by Students (OAPS)," which is a collaborative scheme between CityU and other universities, including Seoul National University (Korea), University of Southern California (US), and Tsinghua University (China). The title of the disseration is "Construction delay claims and risk management from the owners' perspective."
